主人是位布衣老者，指尖捻起茶匙的动作轻如拂尘。他总说茶有性情，需知时节、懂水土，更要惜缘。案上的茶器各有故事：粗陶盖碗来自景德镇的老匠人，青瓷公道杯是旅途中偶然所得，连竹制茶则都透着经年摩挲的温润。

三五茶客围坐，看热水注入时茶叶舒展的姿态，听壶盖轻响如自然私语。从明前茶的鲜爽聊到岩茶的岩骨花香，话题随茶汤渐浓，最后都化作唇边回甘。

茶过三巡，有人临窗写几笔书法，有人静静翻着茶经，老者则在茶案前重新布席。原来品茶从不是目的，而是借一片叶子的滋味，寻回生活本该有的从容与专注。
　　中秋节后是地瓜收获的季节，刨出的地瓜一部分切成片晒干，储藏起来作为一年的主食；一部分放进地窖里，以便一年都能吃到新鲜的地瓜，同时也作为明年养地瓜芽子的种子。这时候，母亲用地瓜变着法儿给我们作出多种饭食，煮一锅，一掀开锅盖，我便迫不及待地抓起一块，烫的扔起来再用手接着，小狗儿讨好地跟在身后，找个树荫坐下，我吃瓤，将皮儿高高抛起，狗儿跳起来用嘴叼住，高兴地只摇尾巴；吃完了地瓜，锅底是厚厚的一层糖稀，用棒儿蘸了，如同吃棒棒糖一般；煮熟了切成片晒干，嚼在嘴里，又甜又筋硬，与牛皮糖不相上下；切成条儿，像炒土豆丝一样炒菜，就着地瓜吃地瓜！……
