主人是位布衣老者，指尖捻起茶匙的动作轻如拂尘。他总说茶有性情，需知时节、懂水土，更要惜缘。案上的茶器各有故事：粗陶盖碗来自景德镇的老匠人，青瓷公道杯是旅途中偶然所得，连竹制茶则都透着经年摩挲的温润。
三五茶客围坐，看热水注入时茶叶舒展的姿态，听壶盖轻响如自然私语。从明前茶的鲜爽聊到岩茶的岩骨花香，话题随茶汤渐浓，最后都化作唇边回甘。
茶过三巡，有人临窗写几笔书法，有人静静翻着茶经，老者则在茶案前重新布席。原来品茶从不是目的，而是借一片叶子的滋味，寻回生活本该有的从容与专注。
金教师教论理。论理是西南联合国大会规则文艺院一班级弟子的选修课，班上弟子很多，上课在大讲堂，坐得满满的。在国学里没有传闻有论理这门常识，大学一年级的弟子对这课很有爱好。金教师上课偶尔要发问，那么多的弟子，他不许都叫得上名字来，--联合国大会是没有点人名册的，他偶尔一上课就颁布："即日，穿红毛衣的女同窗回复题目。"所以一切穿红衣的女同窗就都有点重要，又有点激动。其时联合国大会女生在蓝阴丹士林黑袍表面套一件红毛衣成了一种风尚。--穿蓝毛衣、黄毛衣的极少。题目回复得流丽领会，也是件出风头的事。金教师很提防地听着，结束，说："Yes!请坐!"
